Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead day-to-day engineering and operations for Red Hat and other Linux systems in a classified, air-gapped environment, including configuration, hardening, patching, and maintenance.
  • •Configure, patch, and monitor systems and network devices (including Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switches) using tools such as Panorama and ClearPass, ensuring performance, integrity, connectivity, and backup/recovery.
  • •Collaborate with enclave, network, and security engineers and vendors to troubleshoot issues and enhance the enclave’s network and security posture.
  • •Support vulnerability management and continuous monitoring by reviewing scans, implementing patching/remediation, and managing POA&M mitigation actions.
  • •Drive hardening and compliance efforts through STIG review/implementation and maintain engineering documentation for designs, configurations, and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.
  • •8+ years of related experience.
  • •Hands-on experience with Red Hat operating system and understanding of Linux variants (e.g., Red Hat, Debian).
  • •Hands-on experience operating and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switches, including Panorama and ClearPass.
  • •Must currently possess an active Top Secret clearance (and be able to obtain Top Secret/SCI) and be DoD 8140 / 8570.01-M compliant (e.g., Security+ or equivalent).
