Job Summary

Provide ship-side electromagnetic effects (EMI/EMC) expertise for VC-25B and other aircraft, including developing and validating Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements, test procedures, and design performance verification. Conduct trade studies with modeling and simulation to optimize designs for E3 performance, coordinate EMC compatibility with manufacturing and suppliers, and support project management inputs. Perform analyses and testing across EMI, Lightning, HIRF, precipitation static, and nuclear EMP environments.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide ship-side support of VC-25B and other aircraft.
•Develop and implement tests, validate Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements and architectures, and conduct tests to validate designs to requirements.
•Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict component/interconnect/system performance and optimize E3 design performance.
•Develop and achieve electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring, and structure, interfacing with manufacturing and coordinating with suppliers.
•Support project management with work statement, budget, schedule inputs and reviews; also perform reporting to program management and customers.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
•Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
•Previous experience with MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC.
•Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.
•Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
