Job Summary

Shape electrical power systems for mining and heavy industrial clients across Canada. Based in Sudbury, support and lead electrical design for new construction and brownfield projects, from concept through completion. Design power distribution and control systems, perform power studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash) using ETAP or EasyPower, prepare specifications for major electrical equipment, and incorporate safety, compliance, and risk analysis throughout delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Design electrical power distribution and control systems to support safe, reliable industrial operations.
•Conduct power system studies (load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash) using ETAP or EasyPower.
•Prepare specifications and data sheets for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and associated equipment.
•Deliver electrical systems design across power distribution, motor control, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.
•Oversee engineering calculations, verify accuracy via field reviews/site evaluations, and coordinate across disciplines while mentoring junior staff.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of electrical engineering design experience supporting heavy industrial facilities.
•Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in BC (additional jurisdictions considered an asset).
•Strong understanding of CSA, ANSI, IEEE, and building codes/standards relevant to the work.
•Proficiency in power system modelling tools, with familiarity with instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
•Ability to execute electrical project work across power distribution and related systems, and a valid driver’s licence to attend industrial sites.
