Job Summary

Plan, design, assess, and deliver bridge and civil structures projects in Western Australia, applying AS 5100 and MRWA standards. Provide structural analysis and design of concrete/steel bridges, foundations, bearings, and associated components; prepare technical documentation, construction drawings and specifications; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams; support construction through design clarifications and site inspections; mentor junior staff and liaise with clients and authorities to ensure quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist in the delivery of bridge and structural designs in accordance with AS 5100, Austroads, and MRWA standards.
•Prepare engineering deliverables, including design calculations and reports, technical documentation, and construction drawings/specifications.
•Contribute to design development across concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
•Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, drainage, road design, construction).
•Participate in design reviews, constructability discussions, and safety-in-design processes.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
•Typically 3–7 years’ experience in bridge or heavy civil structural design.
•Experience working within an engineering consultancy environment.

•Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software (e.g. SpaceGass, Strand7, LUSAS, or Midas).
