Job Summary

Lead and manage transport planning projects across modes, developing strategies, policies and business cases. Based in Guildford with hybrid work, you’ll bid for work, manage client relationships, mentor junior staff, and contribute to commercial success while aligning with WSP’s People, Clients & Growth, Operations and Expertise pillars.

Key Responsibilities

•Leading and/or managing a broad range of transport planning projects, with responsibility for project team management and collaboration, budgeting, programming and technical excellence.
•Leading and supporting in the preparation of bids, fee proposals and project programmes.
•Supporting senior colleagues to further develop and expand our work with clients across the UK.
•Provide specific support in securing and delivering work for our diverse local client portfolio.
•Undertake a lead role on technical review and checking of deliverables within the team.

Key Requirements

•Experience working with local authorities in active travel, public transport, scheme development, transport studies, strategies and appraisals.
•Experience of developing transport focused strategies, plans and policies.
•Experience of working with Local Authority and Combined Authority clients.
•The ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines.
•Ability to successfully deliver presentations and liaise with a variety of audiences - including colleagues, public sector officials, members of the public and other key project stakeholders.
