Key Responsibilities

  • •Install and certify structured and patch panel cabling in a data center environment.
  • •Perform optical and copper cabling work, including inspection/cleaning and cable patching between network equipment and the customer network.
  • •Test installed cables using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe and assist in troubleshooting network equipment and cabling.
  • •Install, troubleshoot, and de-install network equipment; install/swap cables, switches, and routers.
  • •Complete Move, Add, Change (MAC) requests and provide infrastructure cabling break-fix, including layer 1 troubleshooting support.

Key Requirements

  • •2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably at least 1 year in a data center environment.
  • •In-depth knowledge of structured cabling and experience installing copper cabling to IEEE and BICSI standards.
  • •Ability to clean and work safely with high-speed single- and multi-mode optical connections and long-range optical lasers.
  • •Experience working in data centers and communications closets, including elevated and underfloor cabling trays.
  • •Proficiency using a Fluke Versiv Mainframe and a track record of successful layer 1 troubleshooting.
