Job Summary

Maintain diesel trucks and heavy equipment by performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across diesel/gas engines, transmissions, and drivetrains, and complete adjustments as needed. Dismantle devices to remove defective parts, order parts through the parts department, and weld/replace components when necessary. Keep the work area clean and follow all workplace safety procedures while tracking work orders using computer programs.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain diesel trucks and equipment by completing inspections and preventive maintenance and correcting vehicle deficiencies and adjustments.
•Troubleshoot problems and make economical, durable repairs, including work on electrical and hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and drivetrains.
•Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools; repair or replace components and install special parts.
•Service vehicles/equipment (oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters) and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
•Order parts and supplies, weld broken parts as needed, test performance by driving/running devices, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED required.
•1-3 years of experience with diesel trucks and/or heavy equipment.
•Experience working on ready-mix trucks; building materials/construction industry experience preferred.
•Must own tools and be 18 years or older.
•Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus) and pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
