Job Summary

Serve as the technical accounting specialist for Marketing finance, advising finance and business teams on deal-driven commercial transactions. Apply deep IFRS expertise—especially IFRS 9 and IFRS 15—to evaluate accounting impacts, explain outcomes to non-finance stakeholders, and research/prepare documentation. Coordinate with Group Finance and external auditors, and support interim and year-end group reporting and statutory accounts compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as the lead technical accounting expert for the marketing finance function, providing guidance to finance and business teams.
•Review proposed commercial transactions to identify and present accounting impact, particularly related to Marketing KPIs.
•Explain potential accounting outcomes to non-finance stakeholders, including accounting and commercial/legal drivers.
•Research, prepare, and review documentation to support Marketing’s adopted accounting positions, coordinating with Group Finance and external auditors.
•Prepare and review interim and year-end group reporting submissions for IFRS compliance and support preparation of statutory accounts for Marketing entities.

Key Requirements

•Strong academic background in Business or Finance, degree educated, plus a professional qualification such as CA, ACA, or CPA.
•Proven experience in a Technical Accounting or Financial Reporting role with strong exposure to IFRS frameworks and regulatory environments.
•Deep technical expertise in IFRS 9 (financial instruments, derivative and hedge accounting) and IFRS 15 (revenue), ideally in a commodities-focused business.
•Solid commercial acumen with experience in commodities, including exposure to marketing, trading, and logistics, and understanding transaction drivers.
•Demonstrated ability to lead consolidation processes with strong communication and presentation skills, grounded in governance, compliance, and risk management.
