Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as a leadership owner for concept studies and detailed designs for highway and drainage work, supporting construction design and delivery.
  • •Actively manage technical design delivery across multiple US projects, coordinating with US lead design teams to meet schedule, quality, and budget constraints.
  • •Provide day-to-day project management including cost and quality control, and preparation of work briefs for technical approval and tender/construction use.
  • •Collaborate with locally based team leaders to optimize resource utilization and identify surplus/shortfall in staffing and workload in a timely manner.
  • •Lead the design process by setting clear team goals, monitoring progress, and providing technical review, mentoring, and advice—while ensuring projects meet Quality, Sustainability, and HSE requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •12+ years post-graduate experience designing highways/motorways and drainage systems for highways, including 5+ years managing multi-disciplinary projects and core design.
  • •Demonstrated proficiency in highway and/or drainage design, including traffic controls, maintenance of traffic, signals, signs & markings, utilities, and clash detection.
  • •Applied knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, and FHWA standards/specifications/guidelines; familiarity with US/UK highway standards desirable.
  • •Proficiency in Bentley software such as Open Roads, InRoads, MicroStation and Geopak, plus working knowledge of iTWINs, Navisworks and SYNCHRO (or comparable tools).
  • •Strong written and spoken English communication and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; chartered status or equivalent experience/qualification preferred.
