Key Responsibilities

  • •Travel up to 75% to perform visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies at supplier sites.
  • •Select and use standard gauges and tools to inspect feature tolerances, and perform complex inspections on purchased mechanical components and materials.
  • •Program and set up articulating arm systems and CMMs (e.g., Romer, CMMs) to achieve the required inspections.
  • •Review and verify certifications, specifications, and conformance to design requirements; inspect flight hardware using drawings, purchase orders, industry standards, and SpaceX specifications.
  • •Support inspection plan development and supplier corrective actions, document non-conformance, and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to drive continuous process improvement.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • •3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
  • •3+ years of CMM programming, CMM operations, or Faro Arm experience.
  • •Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using ASME Y14.5 GD&T and use metrology tools and gauges.
  • •Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted and travel up to 75%.
