Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage intellectual property litigation, including strategy with outside counsel and managing litigation budgets.
  • •Respond to third-party subpoenas and requests for information, documents, and witness testimony.
  • •Strategize with leadership and business partners on IP litigation risks, pre-litigation disputes, and ongoing matters.
  • •Develop and maintain IP litigation policies, procedures, playbooks, and guidelines.
  • •Mentor and help train attorneys, paralegals, and support staff while partnering with colleagues across regions (UK, Europe, Asia).

Key Requirements

  • •J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • •Current member in good standing of a U.S. state bar; California Bar membership preferred.
  • •If not admitted in California, must be eligible to obtain Registered In-House Counsel status in California promptly upon hire and maintain it throughout employment.
  • •At least 12 years of experience in-house litigation and/or outside counsel litigating intellectual property cases in federal and state courts, with at least 4 years at a law firm.
  • •Experience litigating complex intellectual property matters (including patent litigation) and advising business leaders on dispute resolution and legal risk mitigation.
