Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct investigations, interviews, and damage inspections, driving to sites within the assigned territory to prepare estimates and address coverage questions and litigation.
  • •Set and maintain reserves, review reports, direct experts, determine coverage and claim value, and issue or decline payment as appropriate.
  • •Negotiate claims with plaintiff attorneys when necessary and document claim files for closure submission.
  • •Recognize subrogation situations and initiate appropriate action to service assigned territory claims to conclusion.
  • •Complete ongoing industry training, assist in training new claims adjusters, and participate on the Catastrophe Team when required.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED and five years of claims handling experience, or a bachelor’s degree and two years of claims handling experience (or equivalent).
  • •Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses, including a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • •Incumbent must live in the assigned territory unless a change is approved by the company.
  • •Successful completion of the Associate in Claims (AIC) program is preferred.
  • •Ability to use PPE and perform physical tasks including driving and lifting/moving materials as needed.
