Job Summary

Lead machine learning engineering for Zoom’s GenAI Engineering team, building and evolving AI runtime services for the AI Companion product. Own architectural leadership for ZVA and AIEA runtime, define agent runtime frameworks for multi-turn understanding and response generation, and integrate LLM reasoning with orchestration into production. Manage a distributed team, drive technical roadmap and best practices in deployment/observability, and collaborate across product, research, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

•Architect and evolve ZVA and AIEA runtime services for scalability, reliability, and performance.
•Define and implement the agent runtime framework for multi-turn conversation understanding, contextual reasoning, and response generation.
•Lead a distributed team of AI researchers, software engineers, and system architects, including mentoring, planning, and performance management.
•Drive the technical roadmap, evaluate emerging AI technologies, and ensure best practices in model deployment, runtime optimization, and system observability.
•Partner with product, research, and infrastructure teams to integrate AI capabilities, communicate progress to stakeholders, and promote technical alignment and knowledge sharing.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 214,080 - 332,200 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Distributed Systems, or a related field (or equivalent foreign degree).
•5+ years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
•5 years of experience using Python, C, C++, or CUDA.
•5 years of experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
•5 years of experience building and deploying ML applications and workflows (e.g., LLMs/agentic workflows, feature stores in DynamoDB/MongoDB/MySQL/Elasticsearch, and deployment in Docker/Kubernetes).
