Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems, accounting for cooling type, cooling loads, variable heat distribution, airflow management, humidity control, redundancy, energy efficiency, and industry compliance.
  • •Select appropriate air/water side cooling systems for data centers (e.g., CRAHs, chilled water, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, containment) based on equipment criticality and cooling requirements.
  • •Conduct internal and external CFD analyses to optimize airflow distribution, identify hotspots, simulate interactions between electrical/mechanical components, and recommend design modifications.
  • •Design redundancy and fault-tolerant HVAC systems to maintain continuous operation during equipment failure or maintenance, including backup cooling and monitoring systems.
  • •Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for data center growth and phased construction, including HVAC loads for admin and common facility sections and energy-efficient/sustainability strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • •Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation.
  • •P.E. registration is required.
  • •Familiarity with the tech sector and mission-critical/data center industry requirements (scale, speed, consistency).
  • •Knowledge of data center standards including Uptime Institute TER topology and TIA 942, ANSI/BICSI 002.
