Job Summary

Operate spray dryer equipment and support batch production by performing tank and piping connections, setting and running dryer operations, and monitoring/recording processing data. Execute CIP procedures using FIX operator screens, recipes, chemicals, and propane/natural gas controls. Use computer systems (FIX, Quality system, Excel, CIP system) and SAP to run batches, follow sanitation and GMP rules, and operate a forklift to support the process.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate spray dryer equipment, including startup and operation of the R3 dryer and associated instruments, while monitoring and recording processing data.
•Perform tank and piping connections for dryers and holding tanks, ensuring connections for drying products and CIP of dryers.
•Execute CIP procedures for spray dryers, dryer holding tanks, and line circuits using selected CIP cycles on FIX following established recipes, cycles, and chemical procedures.
•Use computer systems (FIX operator interface, Quality system, Excel, CIP system, dryer recipe selection) and work with SAP from start to finish of spray dryer batches.
•Wash and clean equipment per the sanitation manual, follow GMP program rules, and operate a forklift.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•None required; 6 months to one year experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
•Ability to work alone and in close cooperation with production personnel, and provide logical solutions to complex problems.
•Ability to perform required physical demands including walking/standing, climbing stairs and ladders, and reaching/bending/stooping/crouching/squatting.
•Vision, hearing, sense of smell, and reading/writing required; speaking is not essential.
