Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused walk-around counseling to eligible service members and families, including assessment, brief counseling, action planning, referrals, and follow-up.
  • •Deliver training and health and wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and installation activities as requested or directed.
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily through smartphone or a web application while maintaining client/service member confidentiality.
  • •Establish and maintain working relationships with installation command and community resources, partnering with POC to address installation behavioral health needs.
  • •Respond to critical incidents, surge/on-demand events, and special requests; manage duty to warn/restricted reporting per DoD protocol; participate in supervision, in-services, quality improvement, and pilot initiatives.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 59,922 - 100,280

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a relevant mental health field (e.g., social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, counseling).
  • •Valid, unrestricted independent counseling license (LMHC, LMFT, LCSW) or equivalent independent licensure that authorizes independent practitioner counseling.
  • •Less than 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • •Ability to engage and communicate with military members and children, and respond quickly to emergent situations across indoor/outdoor installation and school settings.
  • •Ability to prove US Citizenship, be fluent in English, and pass NACI Clearance, Installation Records Check, criminal background check, and FBI fingerprints check.
