Job Summary

Join the Databricks AI Research Data Agents team to advance autonomous planning, code generation, and multi-step workflow execution for enterprise data. You will ship post-training enhancements, design agent–lakehouse integration, and mentor other researchers while collaborating with product and engineering to push Genie’s agent experiences.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and optimize post-training recipes to train enterprise Data agents capable of autonomous planning, code generation, and multi-step workflow execution
•Collaborate with product teams to turn prototypes into product-grade agent experiences for Databricks users
•Build systems to help agents discover and leverage lakehouse context (tables, notebooks, code, outputs) for more accurate results
•Provide design, debugging, and mentorship to raise the technical bar and shape long-term agentic experiences at Databricks
•Contribute to cross-functional efforts with researchers, engineers, and product stakeholders to align research with product needs

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 190,000 - 270,000 annually

Key Requirements

•BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
•2+ years of experience in an applied research environment, with a track record of shipping research prototypes to production
•Experience in LLMs, agents, reinforcement learning, post-training workflows
•Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment that blends research exploration with product and engineering rigor
•Clear communication and strong cross-functional collaboration with researchers, engineers, and product stakeholders
