Job Summary

Lead the transformation of onsite search from keyword-based results into an intelligent, personalized discovery engine. You’ll strengthen data platforms and experimentation on top of Algolia, define and execute a search strategy, and manage relevance, query handling, and performance. Over time, drive semantic and AI-powered roadmap initiatives (vector retrieval, personalized ranking, LLM-assisted discovery) while partnering with data science, data engineering, and ML engineering to deliver next-gen search experiences.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and execute the search strategy, balancing immediate platform improvements with long-term innovation.
•Lead data platform and experimentation efforts (data pipelines, dashboards, A/B testing) to enable rapid iteration and insight-driven decisions.
•Manage and improve Algolia-based search, including relevance tuning, query handling, and performance optimization.
•Own the roadmap for AI/semantic search evolution (vector-based retrieval, personalized ranking, LLM-assisted discovery).
•Partner cross-functionally with data science, data engineering, and ML engineering; oversee QA/UAT and signoff before production launch.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 250,000

Key Requirements

•6+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years partnering closely with data science, ML, or search/information retrieval teams.
•Proven ability to ship and scale customer-facing data science or search products with measurable business impact.
•Strong experimentation fundamentals (A/B testing, statistical methods, KPI definition) and the ability to translate insights into product decisions.
•Knowledge of machine learning productization, including feature stores, inference platforms, model monitoring, and A/B testing of ML-driven systems.
•Familiarity with search platforms and technologies (e.g., Algolia, Elasticsearch, Solr, OpenSearch) and understanding their strengths/limitations.
