Job Summary

Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of instrument and control equipment to keep machinery operating efficiently and reduce downtime. Respond to breakdowns and carry out planned preventive and predictive maintenance with minimal supervision. Diagnose failures, troubleshoot plant equipment, and complete maintenance work per safety procedures and maintenance plans, including scheduled instrument calibration. Use SAP for spare parts ordering and maintenance records, monitor repeated breakdowns, recommend modifications, and support continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

•Attend to instrument and control equipment breakdowns and perform planned/preventive/predictive maintenance to minimize production downtime.
•Assess allocated jobs and select the necessary tools and equipment to complete the work.
•Diagnose instrument and control failures and troubleshoot plant and equipment breakdowns with minimal direction.
•Complete maintenance work according to safety procedures and maintenance plans, including scheduled equipment calibrations.
•Use SAP to order spare parts and maintain records of maintenance work; monitor repeated breakdowns and recommend and complete modifications as needed.

Key Requirements

•Diploma in the relevant field.
•Completion of PEC Craft Training.
•3 years of relevant experience preferably in a smelter environment or heavy industrial set-up (no experience required after completion of PEC Training).
•Good knowledge of written and spoken English; basic computer knowledge.
•Exposure to installation, troubleshooting, and instrument calibration; ability to read and understand engineering drawings/manuals/instructions; knowledge of PLC control systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
