Key Responsibilities

  • •Advise on the full range of banking and corporate law applicable to internationally operating financial institutions and relevant EU law initiatives, including DORA and AI.
  • •Assess and advise on changes in the legal landscape, jurisprudence, and market developments affecting the bank across multiple jurisdictions.
  • •Review, draft, and advise on documentation such as contracts, opinions, policies, and procedures in line with business requirements and applicable laws.
  • •Collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to understand needs and provide legal solutions for strategic, regulatory, and sustainability initiatives.
  • •Engage and manage external counsel, coordinate consistent legal advice across Legal departments, and represent the bank in industry working groups and consultations.

Key Requirements

  • •Legal Education & Qualifications including the 1st and 2nd German Bar Exam.
  • •Several years’ experience in the financial sector gained in a law firm or in-house in a financial institution.
  • •Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
  • •Team player with a commercial mindset and the ability to work with different stakeholders across cultures.
  • •Deep knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework for financial institutions in Germany and the EU.
