Key Responsibilities

•Provide expert legal guidance for developing large-scale datacenter infrastructure and supporting utilities, including land development, construction, power generation, transmission/distribution, gas pipelines and fuel systems, water and wastewater treatment, and fiber/communications infrastructure.
•Draft and negotiate land purchases, easements, rights-of-way, leases, PPAs, interconnection agreements, fuel supply contracts, pipeline capacity agreements, and related real estate and commercial transaction documents.
•Advise on municipal, county, State, and Federal requirements for zoning, construction permitting, environmental reviews, power generation and utility interconnections, gas pipeline development and safety, water rights and wastewater treatment, and air permitting for turbines/generation.
•Collaborate with internal stakeholders to brief county, State, and Federal regulators and permitting authorities on applicable matters.
•Negotiate complex construction contracts, EPC agreements, and vendor and supply contracts for datacenter buildout, power generation facilities, utility infrastructure, fuel procurement and delivery, and spaceport development as needed.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•JD or foreign equivalent from an ABA-accredited law school.
•Active licensed attorney.
•7+ years of legal experience.
•7+ years of experience with real estate/land use and/or large-scale power and utility infrastructure development, preferably hyperscale datacenter or major industrial projects.
•Familiarity with natural gas project development, power generation contracts/operations, utility interconnections, and Texas regulatory environment (including Public Utility Commission and Texas Railroad Commission rules) is highly desirable.
