Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, implement, and test feedback and adaptive feedforward control systems for noise cancelling headphones and automotive applications using rapid prototyping hardware.
  • •Conduct and oversee electroacoustic and vibration measurements and analyze results.
  • •Brainstorm and evaluate new narrowband/wideband feedforward/feedback algorithms with the research community.
  • •Develop and hand off software, unit tests, validation plans, and tools to downstream development teams.

Key Requirements

  • •MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Acoustical Engineering with 6+ years control systems design experience, or a PhD with 3+ years experience.
  • •Solid understanding of classical control system theory, stability analysis, adaptive filtering (FxLMS), and digital filter theory and practice.
  • •Experience developing and deploying real-time algorithms to embedded platforms; FPGA experience is desirable.
  • •Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for data analysis, simulation, and visualization.
  • •Working understanding of physical acoustics and sensor technologies (microphones and accelerometers); automotive NVH is desirable.
