Key Responsibilities

  • •Write multiple original data studies per month, from hypothesis and data sourcing through final drafts, and pitch them to relevant press.
  • •Track and log media placements and ensure accurate, clear editing for pitch-readiness, including in follow-up reporter conversations.
  • •Oversee digital reputation by monitoring brand comments and working with Compliance to draft replies for consumers and financial advisor customers.
  • •Facilitate online dialogue in visible forums (e.g., Reddit) among financial advisor customers regarding SmartAsset products and services.
  • •Own social media publishing and performance on X and LinkedIn, adapting studies and news into channel-native formats and reporting engagement/reach.

Key Requirements

  • •2-4 years of experience in a public-facing writing role (PR, communications, journalism, content marketing, or wealth management marketing).
  • •Ability to write publishable copy on a deadline and provide a portfolio of published/placed work.
  • •Comfort interpreting and relaying data accurately (percentages vs points, median vs mean) and verifying numbers before sharing.
  • •Working fluency with spreadsheets to find the story in raw datasets and develop insights without hand-holding.
