Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform detailed technical editing, copyediting, and proofreading of contract deliverables, ensuring consistency in style, tone, terminology, and formatting.
  • •Review and refine slide decks, briefing documents, talking points, and other materials for OPTN committee(s) and Board meetings, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality/redaction.
  • •Draft, edit, and format public-facing content for Safety and Compliance Committee activities and key program updates, following OPTN/HRSA guidance and federal plain language requirements.
  • •Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between the project team and HRSA/OPTN communications staff, coordinating review/approval routing and tracking requests/responses.
  • •Coordinate with project managers and subject matter experts, support accessible visual materials in line with Section 508, and contribute to improvements to templates/workflows/review processes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Health, Public Policy, Health Administration, Journalism, or related field.
  • •5+ years of experience in technical editing, communications, or similar roles supporting complex programs or projects.
  • •Experience working with or supporting federal agencies, healthcare, public health, or regulatory/compliance environments.
  • •Demonstrated ability to edit complex technical content for clarity, consistency, and readability while preserving accuracy.
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint/Teams, and virtual meeting platforms (accessible documents/Section 508 preferred).
