Key Responsibilities

  • •Counsel product and engineering teams as an embedded legal partner on privacy regulation, intellectual property, enterprise use cases, consumer protection, and related matters from concept through launch.
  • •Own Arena’s global privacy program and drive privacy-by-design compliance across GDPR and CCPA/CPRA and broader international privacy requirements.
  • •Advise on AI governance and emerging regulations affecting AI model, agent, and tool development and deployment, including privacy- and evaluation-related questions.
  • •Support commercial transactions by designing contractual and operational frameworks for data flows and negotiating privacy provisions with customers, partners, and vendors.
  • •Build and scale privacy and product legal processes, creating playbooks and implementing systems and legal-tech tools (including home-grown and vendor integrations) to support high growth.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of legal experience in privacy and product counseling in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department, ideally with consumer product counseling.
  • •JD plus active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (California preferred) in good standing.
  • •Proven ability to independently build and run a global privacy program, with hands-on familiarity with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
  • •Ability to advise product and engineering teams in real time, translating legal requirements into practical, build-ready guidance.
  • •Deep interest in artificial intelligence, generative AI, and machine learning, with comfort engaging technical teams on data architecture and evaluation issues.
