Job Summary

Senior+ AI Infrastructure Engineer focused on building scalable training pipelines and low-latency inference services for transformer/LLM models. You’ll work in a small, highly technical team on GPU-centric optimization, collaborate with ML scientists, mentor engineers, and elevate reliability and operations across Intercom’s AI platform.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement and scale training pipelines for large transformer and LLM models from data ingestion to distributed training and evaluation
•Build and optimize inference services with low-latency, high-reliability experiences, including autoscaling, routing, and fallbacks
•Work on GPU-level performance: tuning kernels, improving utilization, and identifying bottlenecks across training and inference stack
•Collaborate with ML scientists to implement cutting-edge training/inference methods and bring them to production
•Mentor and develop other engineers on the team while raising technical standards and operational excellence

•5+ years of experience in software engineering
•Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

•Comfortable working in production environments at meaningful scale
•Strong programming knowledge in at least one language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Java, Go)
