Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as lead care provider for women across uncomplicated pregnancy care, including risk assessment and complication recognition with appropriate referrals.
  • •Provide routine antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, promoting breastfeeding and normal physiological childbirth while practicing within competence.
  • •Coordinate individualized care from first contact through discharge planning, prioritizing care based on ongoing assessment and reporting significant changes.
  • •Administer medications per organizational policies, evaluate patient response, identify side effects, and initiate appropriate actions; report ADRs and medication errors.
  • •Supervise and mentor staff (practical nurses/midwives, junior staff, and students), participate in performance reviews, meetings/rounds/case conferences, and contribute to quality improvement, infection control, and a safe working environment.
