Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and evolve monitoring and alerting for MySQL InnoDB Clusters and PostgreSQL infrastructure across multiple datacenters.
  • •Establish and run quarterly backup verification and disaster recovery testing across database systems.
  • •Serve as first-tier on-call responder for database incidents by executing runbooks and escalating when architecture decisions are required.
  • •Monitor and maintain replication health and manage database user lifecycle, including provisioning, access audits, and role-based access control.
  • •Handle security compliance remediation and manage operational health of the Debezium/Kafka Connect data pipeline while building automation and runbooks to reduce toil.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Database Operations in production environments at scale.
  • •Deep operational expertise with MySQL in production, including InnoDB Cluster, Group Replication, MySQL Router, and ProxySQL.
  • •Production experience with PostgreSQL, including replication, high availability, performance tuning, and operational management.
  • •Strong configuration management and infrastructure-as-code experience (Puppet preferred).
  • •Proficiency in PHP, Python, or Go for automation, tooling, and integrations, plus strong incident response experience.
