Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the electrical SME across utility-scale solar and BESS projects and provide technical guidance throughout development, construction, and commissioning.
  • •Review and validate designs from consultants and EPC contractors to ensure they are compliant and fit for purpose.
  • •Ensure systems are compliant, fit for purpose, and aligned with project requirements, and provide technical challenge to optimise performance and reliability.
  • •Review grid connection agreements and ensure DNO/TSO compliance; oversee grid studies conducted by third parties and ensure adherence to UK Grid Code, G99/G100, and relevant standards.
  • •Provide electrical support from development through commissioning and act as the key interface between internal teams and EPC contractors, including responding to technical RFIs/TQs and supporting handover to operations.

Key Requirements

  • •4–8+ years of experience in electrical engineering within the power or renewable energy sector
  • •Experience working on utility-scale solar, BESS, or power infrastructure projects
  • •Strong understanding of MV/HV systems, substations, and grid connection infrastructure
  • •Familiarity with UK grid connection processes and standards (DNO/TSO, Grid Code, G99/G100)
  • •Experience reviewing electrical studies (load flow, fault level, protection coordination)
