Key Responsibilities

•Lead design and delivery of complex data pipelines and products for batch and streaming, ensuring scalability and long-term maintainability.
•Define and assure data integration architectures aligned to enterprise standards and evolving needs.
•Build and optimize data solutions on Databricks using Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, and Structured Streaming.
•Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines with PySpark and SQL, focusing on performance tuning and efficiency.
•Provide technical leadership via mentoring, coaching, and design reviews while embedding data quality, testing, observability, security, and compliance frameworks.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 60,000 - 70,000

•Advanced hands-on expertise in PySpark and SQL, including performance optimisation.

•Solid experience across Azure (ADF, Synapse, ADLS, Event Hub, Purview) and/or AWS (S3, Glue, Kinesis, Athena, EMR, Lake Formation).
•5+ years’ experience in data engineering within enterprise-scale environments.
