Job Summary

Lead Freshworks’ global commercial legal team, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and partnering with Sales, Deals Desk, Professional Services, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Information Security. Oversee SaaS commercial transactions and negotiations (MSAs, DPAs, vendor and reseller agreements), drive compliance and privacy/data protection readiness, and build scalable legal operations with contract workflow automation and playbooks.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee commercial transactions and agreements, providing solutions-oriented, pragmatic, and proactive legal advice to the business.
•Lead and direct commercial attorneys covering structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating MSAs, DPAs, vendor, professional services, and partnership/distributor/reseller agreements.
•Partner with Sales, Professional Services, Sales Operations, Deals Desk, Finance, Product, Partner & Alliances, Marketing, and Information Security to identify and address legal risks and opportunities.
•Continuously improve legal operations by scaling contract management, streamlining workflows, and creating self-service or automated processes to increase team velocity.
•Drive product compliance and provide strategic legal advice across commercial disputes, strategic transactions, M&A, privacy, and cybersecurity, including customer breach incident work with Information Security.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 330,000 - 405,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Juris doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school and active state bar membership in good standing.
•At least 15 years of relevant in-house legal experience directly supporting a sales organization in a technology company.
•Proven ability to recruit, manage, mentor, and lead a team of legal professionals with direct communication and feedback.
•Demonstrated tactical and strategic legal leadership that supports business initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders.
•Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and make on-the-spot risk calls.
