Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and design data-center heat rejection and HVAC systems, accounting for cooling requirements, redundancy, airflow management, humidity control, energy efficiency, and standards compliance.
  • •Select appropriate air/water-side cooling systems (e.g., fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, containment solutions) based on cooling needs and criticality.
  • •Run and interpret internal and external CFD analyses to optimize airflow, identify hotspots, and recommend design modifications in coordination with other trades.
  • •Design HVAC systems with redundancy and fault tolerance, including backup cooling, automatic switchover mechanisms, and monitoring.
  • •Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for IT equipment loads and facility areas, then coordinate integration with electrical systems (including UPS, emergency power, and fire suppression).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation.
  • •P.E. registration is required.
  • •Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology (Uptime Institute, TIA 942, ANSI/BICSI 002).
  • •Experience designing HVAC/heat rejection systems for data centers with energy efficiency and compliance requirements.
