Key Responsibilities

•Contribute to the architecture and long-term roadmap for the Phone Numbers Platform, transitioning legacy systems into a modern distributed microservices architecture for global scale.
•Lead by example in using AI coding assistants to automate boilerplate, generate test suites, prototype quickly, and increase engineering output through AI augmentation.
•Drive technical excellence by making critical architectural decisions balancing feature velocity with reliability and security.
•Partner with Product Managers to translate global telecommunications regulations and customer needs into developer-first APIs and application workflows.
•Mentor engineers, identify and mitigate technical risks early, and lead complex production incident remediation with clear documentation via design docs and RFCs.

Key Requirements

•5+ years designing and developing highly available, high-scale, secure, mission-critical cloud-native distributed systems.
•Strong proficiency in Java or Python, with solid knowledge of AWS ecosystems (Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, Kafka).
•Hands-on cloud-native architecture experience using microservices patterns to build highly resilient systems.
•Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate delivery, including discussing LLM use for debugging and prototyping.
•Experience building and maintaining high-volume public-facing APIs and working with high-throughput data/storage (SQL/NoSQL, Redis, Kafka, or Spark).
