Job Summary

Ensure independent validation of Global Markets profit and loss and balance sheet, verifying that accounting policies are consistently applied and trading portfolios are properly valued. Work within region, business, and process-aligned product control teams delivering daily controls, transparent management information, and process efficiencies. Liaise across Operations, IT, Risk, Front Office, and Central Finance, and represent Product Control in internal and external meetings.

Key Responsibilities

•Independently validate Global Markets profit and loss and balance sheet outputs.
•Ensure accounting policies are correctly and consistently applied and trading portfolios are appropriately valued.
•Deliver daily service with effective controls and transparent management information to regional and central teams.
•Provide support to relevant business areas and maintain liaison with Operations, IT, Risk, Front Office, and Central Finance.
•Represent Product Control in internal/external meetings and support process simplification and efficiencies.

Key Requirements

•Qualified Chartered Accountant/CWA/CPA/CFA/MBA with at least 5+ years of experience in Product Control or a Global Markets environment.
•Strong knowledge of Product Control in banking, including exposure to traded markets products.
•Good knowledge of IAS 39/IFRS 9 hedge accounting strategies.
•Experience with Global Markets products including equities, foreign exchange, fixed income, and derivatives (options, interest rate swaps, credit derivatives).
•Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with ability to manage migrations of finance processes and work in diverse/multi-culture environments.
