Key Responsibilities

  • •Assemble the daybook on i-news by listing story ideas and daily newsworthy events.
  • •Monitor police and emergency scanners and electronic sources, then disseminate information to appropriate newsroom personnel.
  • •Coordinate interviews and logistics for field crews while ensuring comprehensive multiplatform coverage.
  • •Participate in editorial meetings and develop story ideas using strong editorial judgment; produce & assist with undercover special projects during sweeps.
  • •Edit videos for broadcast and social media and publish online content when required.

Key Requirements

  • •Fluency in Spanish and English with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • •Prior experience as an assignment editor, assignment manager, or related role.
  • •Solid news judgment plus strong writing and research skills.
  • •Experience using online and social media resources as news research tools (e.g., LexisNexis, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp).
  • •Basic understanding of editorial judgment and journalistic ethics, including libel/slander knowledge and applicable FCC rules and regulations.
