Job Summary

Lead the development, approval, and continuous improvement of materials and process specifications for composites, structural adhesives, prepregs, and other organic aerospace materials used in nacelle applications. Serve as the primary technical authority for program design teams, conduct complex investigations to resolve process and quality issues, qualify special-process suppliers, and guide cross-functional technical decisions while mentoring engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop technical solutions for complex materials and process problems using informed technical decision-making.
•Create, maintain, and approve materials and process specifications involving composites, adhesives, prepregs, and aerospace materials.
•Lead investigations of process failures and quality issues to drive real-time root-cause resolution.
•Develop and apply analysis methods to establish qualifications, certification, and acceptance material property values.
•Lead supplier qualifications for special processes, including audits and supplier capability development, and mentor technical teams.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with minimum 5 years of experience.
•Experience independently leading complex engineering tasks and customer-facing activities.
•Technical writing skills to produce specifications and reports.
•Experience with materials and process specification development for aerospace applications.
•Background supporting material investigations and root-cause resolution of process failures and quality issues.
