Key Responsibilities

  • •Work from preliminary design drawings, sketches, blueprints, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to determine methods for integrating designs and meeting production and laboratory requirements.
  • •Perform assembly and integration tasks to precise tolerances, selecting methods for meeting engineering specifications.
  • •Operate specialized equipment during spacecraft assembly, such as hydraulic test consoles, cooling system test consoles, alignment fixtures, and installation fixtures.
  • •Determine sequence of operations and install components in space vehicles before testing, including system leak and pressure checks and alignment checks of control surfaces.
  • •Handle fragile multi-layer insulation (MLI) films and materials during installation onto test and flight articles.

  • •Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly for high-reliability products
  • •Proven experience in building and terminating wiring harnesses to a high standard for racks and boxes
  • •Skilled in interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and harness wiring diagrams, as well as internal and external specifications
  • •Proficient in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and digital multimeters (DMM)
