Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform NSIS procedures by inspecting live hogs, heads, carcasses, and viscera to identify and control food safety hazards.
  • •Conduct routine sanitation checks and ensure compliance with Federal Regulations, Directives, and Guidelines.
  • •Verify products meet RTC pork definitions and ensure inspection documentation is reviewed with USDA officials and plant management.
  • •Recognize diseases, consumer concerns, and contamination in pork/swine and communicate findings as required.
  • •Collaborate across departments to implement procedure changes, address non-compliance, and prevent product/process failures while improving quality.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED, required.
  • •Ability to complete required applicable forms in English (read and write).
  • •Follow written and verbal directions; create and interpret technical documents (quality specs, safety rules, manuals).
  • •Use monitoring equipment and work with software such as spreadsheets, presentations, and word processing.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and addressing inquiries from customers or regulatory agencies.
