Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the maintenance system testing programme for Tornado PE2 aircraft and oversee related servicing schedule requirements, unscheduled maintenance, TCTOs, and special inspections.
  • •Plan and coordinate scheduled aircraft maintenance activities on and off aircraft to meet the maintenance programme and RSAF operation requirements, prioritising tasks and providing daily progress updates.
  • •Supervise and support maintenance team technicians, including first-stage/independent certification of completed tasks when required (including Red-X clearance), and ensure personnel are authorised/certified to accomplish tasks.
  • •Ensure maintenance is carried out in accordance with approved data and MOE standards/procedures, including strict tool control, housekeeping, and accurate documentation and information flow.
  • •Investigate and report technical issues and accident/incident events; co-operate with internal/external audits and address performance and disciplinary matters.

Key Requirements

  • •A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship.
  • •Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience in an operational flying aircraft environment, with formal workplace applied training and experience on Tornado mechanical system testing.
  • •Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training if required.
  • •Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.
  • •Working knowledge of Q-pulse and IMS, and understanding of relevant M&CA processes (desirable).
