Job Summary

Support maximum plant reliability by performing maintenance and reliability work as an owner of Sonoco’s Maintenance Excellence Process. Conduct proactive multi-craft maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/automation systems, perform PLC-based troubleshooting and corrective actions, and lead preventive and predictive maintenance to eliminate unplanned failures. Document maintenance activity in a CMMS, perform root cause analysis, collaborate with operations to resolve abnormal conditions, and help drive continuous improvement and 5S standards.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Follow safety policies and procedures, identify and reduce safety risks and hazards, and set the standard for safe behavior.
•Proactively maintain, improve, install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, robotic/automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam (location specific) systems and equipment.
•Troubleshoot equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions to minimize repeat failures, and assist in developing procedures to drive to zero failure.
•Perform preventive/predictive maintenance and help develop and optimize preventive/predictive maintenance tasks and procedures to eliminate unplanned failures.
•Document maintenance activity in the CMMS, communicate with operations to resolve abnormal/degraded conditions, and meet or exceed housekeeping and 5S standards.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma (preferably with a vocational focus).
•Demonstrated competency in IMRT skills (competency matrix for IMRT classifications I, II, III, & Sr).
•Ability to read and understand mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical (including PLC program logic) schematics.
•Working knowledge of electrical work in compliance with NFPA 70E (electrical safety).
•Hands-on skills in welding and machining/fabrication as required by the location.
