Job Summary

Perform aircraft sheet metal work on the New Helicopter Completions team in Columbus, Mississippi. Read blueprints and inspect parts, install sheet metal parts and assemblies, fit and rivet skins/frames/components, and coordinate with inspectors to verify assemblies through tests. This is a temporary contract assignment via a third-party vendor supporting Airbus helicopter manufacturing and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

•Read detailed plans and diagrams; inspect and measure parts to ensure they are defect-free and correct size prior to assembly.
•Install sheet metal parts and assemblies, ensuring attachment does not endanger aircraft structure or aircraft systems operation.
•Fit and assemble skins, frames, and other components, including drilling, fitting, and riveting sub-assemblies such as tail booms and stabilizers.
•Work with inspectors to run tests and determine whether parts are assembled properly.
•Support assigned aircraft, assemblies, and parts work within the sheet metal area on the team.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Minimum of six (6) years related experience; some experience may be substituted for education related to aircraft sheet metal or composite, or attainment of an A&P license.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams and apply standard shop practices for fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures.
•Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
•Current Airframe or Powerplant license is a plus but not required.
•Ability to work with sheet metal tasks including inspection, fitting, drilling, and riveting as part of aircraft assembly and repair.
