Job Summary

Conceptualize and execute beauty and wellness service stories for Allure across digital platforms. Monitor beauty trends and product launches, pitch daily news tied to pop culture, and produce reported trend and news pieces. Collaborate with editors to build a monthly content lineup, develop expert relationships, and contribute to Melanin Edit. Work with audience development to optimize promotion across newsletter, social, and Google Discover, representing Allure in PR and events when needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Write and build a mix of news, service, opinion, and trend articles per month, including both net-new and refreshed content.
•Pitch news stories daily around pop culture moments and trends through the beauty and wellness lens.
•Work with the Content Director and Senior Editor to plan a monthly lineup (seasonal and evergreen) with audience engagement and performance in mind.
•Develop and maintain relationships with beauty and wellness experts and use this reporting to pitch story ideas.
•Contribute to the Melanin Edit and partner with the audience development team to promote content via newsletter, social, and Google Discover.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 66,500 - 72,500 annually

Key Requirements

•2-3 years of experience covering beauty.
•Strong ability to research, report, and write stories quickly in a fast-paced environment.
•Experience optimizing content using SEO tools such as Keyword Finder, Clearscope, and Google Analytics.
•Familiarity with hair care products and ability to evaluate product performance (e.g., moisture retention, curl definition, hold, shine, and scalp comfort).
•Exceptional writing voice, strong organizational skills, and excellent collaboration and communication.
