Job Summary

Join Akamai’s Data Science SRE team to tackle difficult content delivery performance and reliability challenges using large datasets, statistical analysis, and machine learning. Define KPIs, build forecast and early-warning systems, and create tools that automate analytical workflows. Partner across Engineering, Operations, and Product to guide adoption of new features and influence technical investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

•Use analytical and statistical methods to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges and propose solutions.
•Develop new tools to diagnose problems faster and more independently.
•Define, implement, and mine data feeds from internal sources to produce actionable insights.
•Influence high-level decision-making and identify areas for new technology investments.
•Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams and build software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows.

Key Requirements

•Have an academic or industrial background with a PhD or master's degree in computer science or another quantitative field.
•Have an analytical background with experience in statistical data analysis.
•Demonstrate coding experience in one or more of Python or C/C++.
•Possess experience with Internet protocols including DNS, HTTP, TLS, and TCP.
•Understand machine learning algorithms and communicate technical information clearly.
