Key Responsibilities

  • •Spend about 75% of time in the cleanroom providing direct support to production processes and troubleshooting disturbance notices.
  • •Troubleshoot optical alignment and metrology issues, plus module test and final qualification issues involving manufacturing tooling and optical metrology equipment.
  • •Perform optical design re-computation, correct optical aberrations, and run image processing algorithms to extract nm flatness from interferometer data.
  • •Analyze MATLAB scripts and database plots; support query code and image analysis to derive manufacturing conclusions.
  • •Develop troubleshooting guidelines (OCAPs/Fishbones), support diagnostics qualification and implementation, evaluate failed parts with proposed solutions, and perform DOA root cause analysis and PFMEA support.

Key Requirements

  • •0+ years (job grade 6) or 2+ years (job grade 7) in an engineering environment with a Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering, or 0+ years with a Master of Science in Optical Engineering.
  • •Working knowledge of optical metrology setups including interferometers and optical alignment, plus familiarity with geometric/wave optics and aberration theory.
  • •Working knowledge of image/signal/data processing algorithms, statistics, and software development.
  • •Ability to read optical, mechanical, and electrical drawings, and knowledge of optical design tools such as Code-V and/or Zemax.
  • •Knowledge of MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Python; plus experience supporting production environments and technical quality methodology (e.g., Lean, SPC, FMEA) as a plus.
