Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the planning, coordination, and execution of SMBC EU’s ECB Onboarding programme, ensuring timely delivery of regulatory requirements and engagement across the organization.
  • •Manage day-to-day interactions with the ECB after onboarding, including coordination of supervisory requests, regulatory deliverables, meetings, and supervisory priorities.
  • •Build and maintain working relationships with regulatory stakeholders including the ECB Joint Supervisory Team (JST), Single Resolution Board (SRB), BaFin, Bundesbank, and other National Competent Authorities.
  • •Coordinate regulatory inspections, stress testing exercises, supervisory reviews, questionnaires, and other ad hoc regulatory initiatives across the bank.
  • •Monitor regulatory developments and analyze emerging supervisory expectations, providing guidance to support regulatory compliance and preparedness.

Key Requirements

  • •University degree in Law, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • •Significant experience in banking, regulatory affairs, regulatory reporting, risk management, compliance, or a related financial services environment, including experience with banking regulators.
  • •Strong understanding of European banking regulation, supervisory frameworks, and regulatory governance, ideally with exposure to ECB, SRB, or National Competent Authorities.
  • •Experience coordinating complex regulatory deliverables across multiple stakeholders and managing challenging regulatory deadlines.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including preparing regulatory submissions and executive-level materials.
