Key Responsibilities

  • •Work in an assigned area of responsibility, demonstrating mechanical attitude and improving skills across multiple maintenance disciplines.
  • •Know and utilize safety procedures, including lockout procedures and use of proper personal protective equipment requirements.
  • •Perform electrical maintenance tasks such as hooking up motors, identifying burned-up motors, checking fuses, and working with starters/switches using connection data.
  • •Handle mechanical and plumbing expectations, including conveyors, power transmission chains, belts, lubrication requirements, piping/fittings, and installing pipes with minimal restrictions and no leaks.
  • •Carry out welding and cutting and shop-tool duties, including making serviceable welds on steel and aluminum, using cutting torches, soft soldering, and following blueprint guidance.

  • •Show evidence of a mechanical attitude and continuously improve skill and knowledge across two or more maintenance areas.
  • •Know and follow all safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping habits.
  • •Be able to troubleshoot and work with single- and three-phase motors, identify failed motors, and run single-phase circuits.
  • •Use testing tools including an amp probe, volt meter, and continuity tester; be able to check fuses and reset/replace thermal heater units.
  • •Develop competence across mechanical, plumbing, and welding/cutting areas, including performing basic shop-tool and tool-maintenance tasks.
