Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop maintenance plans, forecasts, and long-term maintenance strategies, budgets, and lifecycle plans for gas turbines and plant equipment.
  • •Investigate and troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and provide timely technical recommendations to ensure reliability.
  • •Lead mechanical or multi-discipline projects, including research, cost analysis, and technical solution development.
  • •Write technical procurement specifications, obtain competitive bids, participate in contractor/equipment selection, and supervise contractors for scope, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • •Perform condition monitoring analyses and plan major maintenance activities (turnarounds and unplanned outages), while mentoring engineers and supporting HSE policies.

Key Requirements

  • •Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized institution and registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA (or another provincial association with inter-provincial mobility).
  • •10+ years of relevant experience in thermal/gas-fired power generation (additional experience considered an asset).
  • •Experience with maintenance planning, work scope development, and supporting outages, turnarounds, and inspections.
  • •Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment and conducting condition monitoring (including vibration/oil analysis) with corrective recommendations and Root Cause Analysis.
  • •Experience preparing engineering design document reviews and verification (e.g., P&IDs, piping isometrics, design drawings/specifications) and preparing procurement work scopes for plant modifications.
