Job Summary

Build and standardize secure, scalable infrastructure across AWS and GCP as part of the Core Infra Systems Platform team. Drive cross-cutting initiatives spanning cloud networking, compute, and tooling, creating self-service “paved-road” defaults for safe provisioning. Embed security and compliance guardrails into infrastructure provisioning, lead technical investigations across infrastructure boundaries, and reduce fragmentation across Coinbase’s multi-cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Own cross-cutting infrastructure initiatives across AWS, GCP, and networking pillars within Core Infra Systems, aligning on standards, tooling, and operational patterns.
•Build and maintain self-service tooling and paved-road defaults to help product teams safely provision and operate cloud infrastructure.
•Partner with Compute, Infra Security, and Routing to embed guardrails into infrastructure provisioning for security, compliance, and reliability.
•Drive infrastructure standardization across a multi-cloud environment to reduce fragmentation and improve consistency in platform primitives.
•Lead technical investigations and operational improvements across infrastructure boundaries to resolve systemic issues and scale foundational systems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 186,065 - 218,900 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building and operating production cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP (networking, compute, or platform engineering).
•Hands-on experience with cloud networking primitives including VPCs, transit gateways, DNS, and load balancers.
•Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and/or Pulumi.
•Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Go or Python) for platform tooling and automation at scale.
•Ability to drive cross-team technical initiatives across infrastructure domains to deliver production-ready outcomes.
