Job Summary

Design and support pavement engineering for transport infrastructure across New Zealand, from highways and intersections to airports and urban corridors. Apply NZTA/Waka Kotahi and Austroads pavement standards to develop solutions, lead investigations, interpret testing data, and provide construction-phase technical advice. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors, while mentoring junior and graduate engineers and helping build trusted client relationships.

•Deliver pavement engineering designs, technical assessments, and construction support across a portfolio of transport infrastructure projects.
•Develop practical, innovative engineering solutions using New Zealand and Austroads pavement design standards.
•Lead pavement investigations, interpret testing data, and produce robust design recommendations for complex transport projects.
•Provide technical advice during construction, respond to RFIs, and support successful delivery on site.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors; mentor graduate and junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
•Around 2+ years' experience delivering pavement design, construction monitoring and/or MSQA services on transport infrastructure projects in New Zealand or Australia.
•Demonstrated experience delivering MSQA, CPS, and pavement design services on New Zealand roading projects (or supporting pavement design packages across transportation projects).
•Strong knowledge of NZTA/Waka Kotahi and/or local council pavement design and construction standards.
•Current New Zealand Driver Licence.
