Job Summary

Montreal-based Automobile Senior Underwriter responsible for analyzing and underwriting new and renewal commercial auto risks, leveraging broker networks and underwriting expertise to grow the book of business. •Proactively pursue renewal and new account opportunities with key broker partners.
•Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
•Qualify accounts to meet the organization’s appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
•Make agent/broker/customer and on-site calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.
•Negotiate terms & conditions and close deals.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of experience in underwriting or market facing area; or 6+ years in claims or underwriting support; or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ year of experience in underwriting or market facing area; or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4+ years in claims or underwriting support area;
•Bilingual in French & English
•Knowledge of line/s of business and regulatory guidelines; knowledge of quotes for new and renewal business timelines; experience with Microsoft Office
•Strong broker/customer relationship management skills and travel for business as required
•Fluency in both spoken and written English to facilitate communication outside Quebec
